Top Tips & Guidance

Stage 1: Nomination Form

  • Read each question carefully and follow the guidance notes, prompts, and bullet points provided in the form.
  • Use the mark allocation to guide how much detail is expected in each response.
  • Check the category description and judging criteria before you begin and select one category only. You cannot be considered for multiple categories (for example, Changemaker and Rising Star).
  • Tailor your responses directly to the question being asked, focusing on impact as well as achievement.
  • Upload a clear, high-resolution headshot photograph and ensure your chosen category is clearly stated.
  • Save a copy of your completed form before submitting. The form is an editable PDF; however, if you experience technical issues, you may copy your responses into a Word document and submit that instead.
  • At the end of the form, please nominate another woman for the following year. Although this section is not marked, it reflects the SheInspires value of giving back. Please include your name so we know you have taken part.

Stage 2: Judges’ Interview (Shortlisted Candidates)

  • Shortlisted candidates are invited to a 15-minute Zoom interview and sent a confirmed date, time slot, and link.
  • Judging dates cannot be changed, but time-slot adjustments may be considered in exceptional circumstances.
  • The interview begins with a five-minute introduction about you and your journey. This can be a short PowerPoint presentation used as an aid, or oral storytelling — whichever you are most comfortable with. Please avoid using video clips, as video formats are not always compatible and can disrupt the interview.
  • After your introduction, you will be asked three questions by the judges. You will have up to three minutes to respond to each question.
  • A final one-minute catch-all question allows you to add anything you feel has not yet been covered.
  • Judges are supportive and many are former SheInspires winners. Their role is to help you feel comfortable and understand your impact — relax, be yourself, and tell your story honestly.
