Project Dignity at The Girls Club

The activity at our Girl’s Club last week was to decorate a Dignity bag each, refill with goodies and top off with a hand decorated cupcake as presents for their Mums or Grandmas.

The girls had a fantastic time and the results looked amazing.

L is 7 and said she had had a lovely time and she couldn’t wait to give the bag to her Mum and L’s Mum Bethany said she didn’t want to use anything because it looked so beautiful!

Another one of the girls liked the bag contents so much that she kept them for herself and just gave Mum a cake in a decorated bag. Her Mum thought the bags were a fabulous idea and making them look like gifts made a very serious matter more easy to talk about.
It was really good to be able to speak to the girls about the importance of making sure every girl has access to sanitary and hygiene products and as a group we were inspired to sign up for the shoe box project at Christmas to make sure girls in other countries have as much as we can send.
