Every now and then, a month comes along that leaves you with little time to pause, but gives you so much to reflect on afterwards. June was one of those months. It was busy, demanding and full of movement, but when I look back, what stays with me most is not the logistics, the planning or the long days. It is the people. The conversations. The moments of connection. The quiet reminders that She Inspires has grown into something far bigger than an awards programme.
The month began with one of the most important dates in the She Inspires calendar, our annual She Inspires Judges Meet, where more than 120 judges, finalists, sponsors, exhibitors and members of our community came together. It was an evening built on trust, transparency and belonging. Finalists had the opportunity to meet judges, ask questions, hear from previous winners and begin their awards journey feeling supported rather than overwhelmed. It reminded me once again that recognition does not begin with a trophy. It begins with someone feeling seen.

Only a few weeks later came RISE 2026 at The Midland, Manchester, and what a powerful day it was. Leaders from business, education, technology, healthcare, government and community came together to explore the future of leadership through conversations that challenged thinking and opened doors. Across every room, ideas were exchanged, partnerships began and people who may never otherwise have met found common ground. One of my proudest moments was seeing more than a dozen students from Bolton Sixth Form College, supported by Annabelle and her colleagues, gaining meaningful work experience alongside our team. For me, creating opportunity should never be something we simply talk about. It should be something we do.

June also gave me the privilege of attending the FCDO Diplomatic Reception for South Asian Women and Girls in London. It was an inspiring evening that brought together diplomats, changemakers, community leaders and organisations committed to creating greater opportunities for women and girls. What struck me most was how often the conversations returned to the same themes: representation, leadership, inclusion and pathways for women to thrive. It reminded me that while our work at She Inspires may begin in communities, its relevance reaches much further. Women’s economic agency, visibility and leadership are global conversations, and we all have a role to play.

As June gave way to July, we held our first She Inspires Global Community Connect, an online gathering created for our global finalists. Within days, all 100 Zoom places had been booked, with more than 40 people on the waiting list. What happened during that session exceeded every expectation. Judges shared their wisdom, finalists asked thoughtful questions, and women from across the world encouraged one another with such warmth and generosity. It was a beautiful reminder that when women are brought together with purpose, countries, titles and distance disappear, and community comes alive.
The feedback afterwards touched me deeply.
One finalist said the session had “brought the She Inspires world to life.”
Another shared that she felt “included, valued and inspired.”
Another said she left feeling “positive, celebrated and seen.”
Perhaps the comment that stayed with me most came from a finalist who wrote that she had never experienced anything like this in the awards space before.
I read those words several times.
Not because they praised our work, but because they reflected the culture we have been trying to build for years.

People often ask what She Inspires actually is. Yes, we organise awards, host conferences, create leadership spaces, build community initiatives and open up global conversations. But none of those things are the destination. They are the vehicles. At its heart, She Inspires exists to create opportunity. Recognition gives women visibility. Visibility builds confidence. Confidence opens doors to collaboration, leadership and economic agency.
Looking back on June, I feel deeply grateful. The success of She Inspires has never been measured only by how many events we organise or how many people attend them. It is measured by whether someone walks away believing in themselves a little more than when they arrived. Whether they leave with a new connection, a new opportunity, a new idea, or simply the feeling that they have found people who understand them.

To our sponsors, partners, speakers, judges, volunteers, exhibitors, students, supporters and every member of the She Inspires community, thank you. You are the reason this movement continues to grow. As we move towards the interviews, the awards and everything still to come this year, I do so with enormous optimism.
Because if June reminded me of anything, it is this:
When women come together with generosity rather than competition, remarkable things happen.
And I have never been more excited about what comes next.
