Let’s Talk Money: Molly the Butterfly Is Fluttering into Classrooms

Financial literacy is not a luxury. It’s a life skill — and one that’s often left too late.

That’s why Let’s Talk Money, an award-winning initiative founded by Gulnaz Brennan, is making its way into classrooms, starting a conversation that matters long before adulthood.

Rooted in Gulnaz’s personal experiences and years of community work, Let’s Talk Money was created to tackle the silent crisis of financial vulnerability — especially among women and young people. The initiative was born out of lived realities: women trapped in financial coercion, families derailed by poor money habits, and generations growing up without basic financial confidence.

In 2025, Gulnaz was recognised nationally as one of the top five inspirational women in the UK by the Daily Mail Inspirational Women Awards. That recognition has brought not only honour, but momentum — giving the Let’s Talk Money campaign wings in more ways than one.

Enter Molly the Money Butterfly — the joyful, relatable character at the heart of our financial literacy sessions for children. Molly is more than just a butterfly. She teaches young minds to save, spend wisely, and share generously, sparking early emotional and financial intelligence in a playful and impactful way.

And now, thanks to the remarkable Lynn Williams — award-winning educator, SheInspires winner, and now judge — Molly has officially fluttered into classrooms.

With Lynn delivering sessions through Let’s Talk Money, we are seeing the real-world ripple effect of what happens when awards don’t just celebrate, but mobilise. They connect people. They amplify purpose. They unlock networks of trust and talent.

Lynn’s sessions are already proving to be transformative: bringing storytime to life, introducing young learners to basic money skills, and seeding future confidence with each visit. Schools are responding with enthusiasm — and so are the children.

Because when a child learns about money early, they don’t just learn numbers. They learn self-worth, decision-making, generosity, and how to dream without fear.

Are you part of a nursery, primary, or secondary school — in the UK or internationally?

Let’s keep Molly flying — from Bolton to the world.
