Introducing Our Ambassador- Lady Kishwar Desai

We are delighted and honoured to have Lady Kishwar Desai as our Ambassador. Lady Kishwar Desai, is an author, playwright and a columnist. She started her career as a print journalist and worked as a political reporter, moving on to television and broadcast media after a while, where she worked for over two decades. Her first novel, Witness the Night, won the Costa Book Award in 2010 for Best First Novel and has been translated into over 25 languages. Just a little note to say …Thank you

The support and commitment by our Judges has been exemplary and we cannot thank them enough. Their time and investment in Inspire judging process is greatly appreciated and we couldn't run the Awards without their valuable input. We are amazed at the number of judging panel meetings we have managed to have via zoom so far. Freda Bedi was an Englishwoman who made her life in India and went to jail for supporting India’s freedom struggle against a colonial power which happened to her mother country. As a student at Oxford in the 1930s, Freda broke social convention by marrying a handsome Sikh fellow student B.P.L.Bedi. It was another year before she first set foot on Indian soil and by then she and her husband were prominent leftist and nationalists.
