Let’s Move My Way

Our latest project #Let‘sMoveMyWay, in collaboration with #SportsEngland #ThisGirlCan, was launched in February, with Lesley Kelly as Project Lead. With lockdown and working from home severely limiting our chances of physical movement, the project is designed to encourage women to get moving, with a variety of sessions and activities centred around fitness, wellbeing, meditation, yoga, walking and dance sessions. Physical fitness is known to help not just physical but also mental wellbeing. As we begin to move out of lockdown restrictions, our project remains relevant, with the Covid-19 transmission rates in several areas in the Bolton Borough reminding us that we are not yet back to a sense of ‘normality’ and many people remain cautious about stepping boldly back into the social lives they...

Let’s Move – My Way

Women in Neighbourhoods (WiN) was established to help and support women in Bolton communities. We work on three key principles: EDUCATE, EMPOWER & CELEBRATE, delivering a variety of sessions ranging from art, IT, healthy lifestyle, mindfulness, fitness at community venues. We have recently launched a new initiative: LET’S MOVE – MY WAY with the aim of encouraging and promoting activity beneficial to both physical and mental well-being. This can be in the form of dancing, yoga, walking and other activities. Some sessions will be conducted on-line, by necessity under current lockdown regulations, but we hope that as the rules begin to ease, it won’t be too long before we can start to meet up with our family and friends again and share the benefits of these activities in person. ...
