Women in Neighbourhoods (WiN) was established to help and support women in Bolton communities. We work on three key principles: EDUCATE, EMPOWER & CELEBRATE, delivering a variety of sessions ranging from art, IT, healthy lifestyle, mindfulness, fitness at community venues. We have recently launched a new initiative: LET’S MOVE – MY WAY with the aim of encouraging and promoting activity beneficial to both physical and mental well-being. HANDI~ Food Connects

Engaging the most vulnerable during the pandemic HAND~ Food Connects  Our latest project HANDI and its activities are funded by National Lottery through its urgent response fund. Twice a week cooking sessions and workshops have been taking place online bringing women together. The sessions are hugely popular and much needed respite for women. We also have local chefs  and experts who talked and chatted and shared their skills.  Food/recipe packs, along with recipe books and dry ingredients were distributed. COVID 19 Response

Supporting the most vulnerable during the pandemic ABLE and HANDI are our two projects as part of our immediate response to COVID-19 situation. ABLE was funded by Lankelly Chase Foundation and supported by Unlimited Potential. HANDI is funded by HM Government Treasury and The National Community Fund and supported by She Inspires Foundation. Olwyn is the chair of The Golden Oldies, an older people’s wellbeing group in Tonge Fold. Before Olwyn came along the group was about to fold due to ill health and lack of confidence in existing members. Since she joined she has turned the group around, working tirelessly to ensure needs of residents in the local area are met. We are delighted and honoured to have Lady Kishwar Desai as our Ambassador. Lady Kishwar Desai, is an author, playwright and a columnist.
