SCORES of Bolton’s most inspiring women were honoured when the 2018 Inspire Awards were held at the Macron Stadium. Around 500 people were present to see 26 awards distributed to women from every area of local life – the charity field, social care, business, sports, industry and also highlighting individual achievement. The culmination was the 2018 Inspire Woman of the Year Award which was presented to Debbie Dowie who established the Boot Out Breast Cancer charity. This year we celebrate  #GreaterManchester Women across time, cultures, and industries by chronicling their stories in #100Women #100Stories Book.  Having actively worked with Women and Media for over a decade, Gulnaz has decided to chronicle some of the most inspiring  Women she has known, met and heard of.  These remarkable life stories of courage, compassion, sacrifice and personal accomplishments  have inspired her and she would like to share her inspirations, in the hope  these stories can inspires others as well.  FourTwographs will be working in collaboration, bringing  expertise of portraiture shoots to this project. The Souls Migrated film is an excellent resource documenting the story of people who have migrated to Bolton from all over the world. It explores the rich and diverse stories of migrants, sharing their culture and heritage covering themes of loss and hope. Making the film was a valuable experience for the participants and volunteers who took part and the outcome is an insightful film, capturing this important aspect of Bolton’s heritage. The film is a tool which can be used to explore themes of heritage and cohesion and its impact will go far beyond the lifetime of the project.…

I feel like a celebration. Billy Fury once sang, “half way to paradise; so near yet so far away……” Today marks the half way point of the Biggest Loser challenge; a healthy weight loss campaign that is sponsored to raise money for Bolton Hospice. My target was to a) complete the 12 weeks without failing (gaining weight) or b) physically harming anyone (because I expected to be miserable) and c) if possible lose 2 stones. So half way through I am in a great mood. Weigh in Number 1 was 25th January 2018 and I was 17 stone 4 lbs.…
