SCORES of Bolton’s most inspiring women were honoured when the 2018 Inspire Awards were held at the Macron Stadium. Around 500 people were present to see 26 awards distributed to women from every area of local life – the charity field, social care, business, sports, industry and also highlighting individual achievement. I feel like a celebration. Billy Fury once sang, “half way to paradise; so near yet so far away……” Today marks the half way point of the Biggest Loser challenge; a healthy weight loss campaign that is sponsored to raise money for Bolton Hospice. My target was to a) complete the 12 weeks without failing (gaining weight) or b) physically harming anyone (because I expected to be miserable) and c) if possible lose 2 stones. ‘Souls Migrated’ Project of WiN celebrates Heritage Lottery Fund grant

WiN has received a Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) Sharing Heritage1 grant, it was announced today. This exciting project, ‘Souls Migrated’ is based in Bolton and led by WiN has been given £10k to make a short documentary about people who have migrated from other places and have chosen to make Bolton their home. ‘Souls Migrated’ will work with residents from various cultures and backgrounds.
