A She Inspires Foundation Initiative
Money touches every aspect of our lives — yet too often, conversations about money are shrouded in silence, especially for women and girls. At the She Inspires Foundation, we are changing that narrative — one powerful conversation at a time.
Founded with Purpose
The Let’s Talk Money initiative was founded by Gulnaz Brennan, a passionate advocate for women’s empowerment and the visionary behind the She Inspires Foundation. For Gulnaz, the journey is deeply personal. Having witnessed the devastating effects of financial coercion, generational financial illiteracy, and the silent struggles of women in abusive relationships, she recognised a painful truth: without financial education, independence remains out of reach for far too many women.
For the past three years, Gulnaz has worked tirelessly to bring the conversation on financial well-being into homes, communities, and women-led businesses. But this year marks a bold new step. After years of working closely with women across all walks of life, she realised the root of the problem must be tackled much earlier.
If we want to break the cycle of financial vulnerability, we must start where the cycle begins — in childhood.

Enter Molly the Money Butterfly
Colourful, kind, and ever-curious, Molly the Money Butterfly is the star of our Let’s Talk Money campaign for children. This joyful and engaging character is at the heart of our mission to bring financial education into nurseries and primary schools.
Molly doesn’t just talk about coins and notes — she explores the values behind money: sharing, saving, planning, giving, and even dreaming. She encourages young minds to build a healthy relationship with money and understand its role in making choices, growing confidence, and helping others.
Our workshops and storybooks use creative storytelling, games, and metaphors to make the world of money fun and accessible to early learners — planting seeds of financial confidence that can grow for a lifetime.
Leadership That Inspires Change
We are incredibly proud to announce that Lynn Williams, a long-time She Inspires Awards judge and former winner, is now leading the charge in delivering our Let’s Talk Money programme to schools.
Lynn is a retired headteacher of the outstanding-rated St Peter’s CofE Primary School in Farnworth, Bolton. Her decades of experience in primary education, combined with her passion for community development, make her the perfect person to take this initiative forward.

Her first act of leadership? Presenting Let’s Talk Money at a cluster meeting of headteachers at Kearsley West Primary School — where the response was overwhelmingly positive.
Thanks to her presentation and heartfelt commitment, we now have three schoolsready to welcome Molly the Money Butterfly and begin their financial literacy journey:
- St Peter’s CofE Primary School, Farnworth
- All Saints CE Primary School, Farnworth
- Kearsley West Primary School, Kearsley
We’re excited to begin this next chapter, working with schools who see the value in raising financially confident, self-aware, and empowered children.
Why It Matters
Financial literacy is not just about money — it’s about freedom, choice, and dignity. It’s about giving every girl, every child, the confidence to say: “I can make a plan. I understand how things work. I have control over my future.”
Our Let’s Talk Money initiative is part of a larger mission to build a world where no woman is silenced by lack of knowledge, where no elderly person is manipulated through financial dependence, and where no child grows up fearing conversations about money.
We are building a movement — and it begins with butterflies in classrooms and brave voices in community halls.
What’s Next
We are already seeing the impact — through smiles, stories, and school invitations. And we’re just getting started. With Lynn Williams’ leadership, the support of educators, and a growing network of allies, Let’s Talk Money is on its way to becoming a national campaign for early years financial education.
