AWARDS which recognise inspirational women across Bolton and the North-west are being extended to the rest of the country and the rest of the world for 2021. In the first week of opening for nominations, the She Inspires Awards have received more than 120 nominations including from as far afield as Australia. The seventh annual awards are being held at Whites Hotel on November 25. They were originally started by Gulnaz Brennan through the Women in Neighbourhoods’ movement to honour women across the borough in every area of life. INSPIRATIONAL women who have made a difference to others were celebrated in a glitzy online ceremony. The sixth annual Inspire Awards had to be staged virtually this year because of the pandemic, but preparations are underway to hold a reception for the winners when it is safe to do so. Staged at the University of Bolton, the awards lost none of the red carpet feel, with some of the country most high profile women attending, including Patron, Baroness Trish Morris of Bolton and Baroness Sayeeda Warsi. For, a record number of entries have been received for this year's 2020 Inspire Awards. BOLTON’S most inspiring women will be celebrated at a book launch. “Inspirational Women”, written by Gulnaz Brennan, champions the work of 18 women in their Bolton communities. The launch will be held at 7pm on Thursday at Slaterfield Community Centre in Great Lever.

Our latest project #Let‘sMoveMyWay, in collaboration with #SportsEngland #ThisGirlCan, was launched in February, with Lesley Kelly as Project Lead. With lockdown and working from home severely limiting our chances of physical movement, the project is designed to encourage women to get moving, with a variety of sessions and activities centred around fitness, wellbeing, meditation, yoga, walking and dance sessions.
